A dummy head is an acoustic mannequin, whose ears have
been designed and modelled according to an average pair of ears. In
the opening of the auditory meatus two small microphones are
placed. There are several different dummy heads but all assessments
indicate that the best result can be achieved by use of the dummy
head, Valdemar, who is the result of many years of research and
measurements carried out at the Department of Acoustics, Aalborg
University. The dummy head can be used as a sound recording device
as well as an appliance for measuring Head Related Transfer
Functions, the so-called HRTF´s. In other words - Valdemar is
